PROTECTION THROUGH STRENGTH

HALYARD* Sterilization Wrap is made out of polypropylene using a five layer (Spunbond-Meltblown-Meltblown-Meltblown-Spunbond) process; the outer layers of the sterilisation wrap provide exceptional strength and durability.

The inner multi-layers of Meltblown fibres provide an optimal barrier to bacteria and liquids while allowing penetration of gas sterilants (steam, ethylene oxide and plasma). The technical definition of layers differs from that of sheets.

Typical examples of the Spunbond/Meltblown/Spunbond are SMS, SSMMS, and SMMS – abbreviations referring specifically to layer configuration, not number of sheets.

It is not possible to differentiate between the number of meltblown layers; with everything else equal only the meltblown content (thickness) determines barrier properties – not the number of layers.

All HALYARD sterilisation packaging products are CE-marked and meet AS/NZS 4187 Standards, complying to EN ISO 11607 using tests from EN 868-2.

Next to being strong and being an excellent bacterial barrier, all HALYARD* Sterilization Wrap products have been tested to ensure they meet the Optimum Balance Properties. ^3,4
